BRIDAL SHOWER |
|
There are plenty of "traditional" gifts for a bridal shower: kitchen wares, wine glasses, linens, honeymoon items. But if you want to get a bit more unique this time around, why not give her a beautiful Giclée Canvas Print? She will love her personalized artwork, and a well-chosen image will make an excellent addition to her existing home decor, or the empty walls in her new home
It's simple to make your canvas gift truly one-of-a-kind. Family photo, fun candid shot, a destination they love, a copy of a classic artwork they've always admired. You know her well enough to find a beautiful picture - yours, hers, or borrowed - that she will cherish and be proud to display in her home for decades!
PICKING THE PERFECT GIFT
It's always more fun to receive a creative, personal gift than a generic one. And it's usually just as much fun for the gift giver to pick out a really special, meaningful present.
The image, the size, the display - these are all important things to consider when choosing wall decor as a gift. It should be something the recipient will love, not just something you'd like yourself! Here are some tips for selecting the best piece to give your friend or family member in celebration of their upcoming nuptials:
- Snoop around their house. Not into drawers and closets, but try to get a feel for the decorating scheme. If they like simple wallpapers and light shades, go for a picture in this same vein. Are they more into bold colors and styles? Choose a photo that reflects this wilder version of their personalities.
- Bring up home decor-related conversations, and then listen. Do they mention an area they wish was better decorated? How about a color scheme in the planning stages? If a blank wall is a subject of despair, sneak a measurement so you can order an artwork of the perfect size.
- Concerned about picking the right thing? Consider ordering a small image. No less thoughtful or eye-catching, a little 10x10" or 15x20" print fits perfectly in the front hall, office, or stairwell, and won't take over. Or, if you really have no idea, you can always just ask! It might not be a complete surprise, but it won't be any less appreciated.
- Still stuck? Why not opt for something that suits the event? A fun memory of her old, single life, or a print of her favorite engagement photo. A candid shot of the couple can make a great over-the-couch photo, and one of the two of you together can be a sweet bedside image.
- Once you've settled on the picture, consider the presentation. Do they already have a number of canvases to display around the house? If so, you might choose to stick with that style, or pick out one of our beautiful canvas floater frame to accentuate the picture.
- If you don't have access to the perfect image, or for any other reason you're unable to select a canvas print or frame, why not let them pick their own, on you! We offer Gift Certificates in custom denominations. We can send the recipient the code via email, or print a physical certificate and mail it straight to them!
Whatever your budget or relationship with the recipient, put some serious thought into the gift. Your efforts will be recognized and appreciated.

THE FIRST BRIDAL SHOWER
Quite a sweet little tale accompanies the origin of the Bridal Shower, from a 1920s book on etiquette. The story goes that a young girl fell in love with the kindest man in her village - a poor miller who would give away his flour for free to those who could not afford to pay. The girl's father, however, was determined she marry an old, wealthy man.
It seemed all was lost until the other people of the village - who also loved and respected the miller - came together to build a dowry for the girl so she could marry the man she chose. Each villager brought something they could spare - good cloth, fine dishware, home decorations - and "showered" the girl with these gifts. Because of their generosity, the girl was allowed to marry the man she loved.
Whether or not this story is the true origin of the bridal shower, the concept of coming together to present a bride-to-be with small gifts is a touching and popular tradition.
