I've always loved to draw. When I was 11 years old, I was told that the most difficult thing to draw was a portrait.
So that was enough motivation for me to start doing just that. As much as I look back at them now, with their lack of technique, there was, and still remains today, a point when a drawing 'comes to life.' That's what I call the moment of 'art'.
For me, 'art' isn't simply the finished painting, statue, or drawing, it's the feeling that comes with creating it.
A graduate of the Academy of Art in Montreal, I first worked in graphic design; then I was introduced to using the computer as a design tool and eventually began to illustrate on the computer. Soon after my illustrations received international recognition with a number of awards. This, in turn, provided me with the opportunity to work in Ottawa.
I still make my living in design but I manage instead of designing. I've discovered a new tool that permits me to work anywhere and anytime - the iPad. A number of these artworks were done on the iPad. I can still be commissioned to do pencil portraits, just go to my site to see more examples of my pencil and digital work.
